Artist Statement: Delivery

Delivery draws attention to the more stringent qualities of Reductive Abstraction such as colour and the intention with this work is to use colour as a thing-in-itself within the crates to permeate the negative space and beyond.
I wished to see how the reconfiguration of the support or format for the means of carrying colour alters the way it is perceived by the viewer. Delivery is literally the transference of colour as a thing-in-itself from one place to another. The fact that the crates are delivering colour to the gallery is of equal importance to the experience of the colour once they are opened and I wish to experiment with this notion here. By reconfiguring the support of pure colour and altering the way it is experienced, by the viewer, makes a direct reference to the reception of abstraction in the context of installation.
